In this tutorial, you’ll learn not only how to setup and create a custom email address for your website with NameCheap, but also how to check your email in Gmail.

Create Custom Email Address With NameCheap
From your NameCheap cPanel, simply scroll down just a bit and click on the Email Accounts link in the Email section. On the resulting page, click on the blue Create button on the right side.
The username for your email account will be your custom email address. It can consist of letters, numbers, periods, hyphens, and underscores and have no more than 64 characters.
While your custom domain is already filled in, you simply need to select the prefix for your email address. This is the me in me@mydomain.com for example.
After picking a secure password, you might as well tick the unlimited storage space option rather than the 250 MB default.
Once you click on the create button, you now have a custom email address with your domain name from NameCheap. And since you have unlimited email accounts with NameCheap, you can repeat this process and create as many custom email addresses as you need.
Forward NameCheap Email to Gmail
While you have the option of checking your email from within a fully functional webmail interface, you can also forward your NameCheap email to Gmail and check it from there.
In the welcome email that NameCheap sends you, you’ll find instructions for manually setting up a mail client. We’re interested in the recommended secure SSL/TLS settings.
In order to check and receive your website email in Gmail, you need to configure a couple settings. From your Gmail inbox, click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner and click on settings.
1. Check Mail from Other Accounts
By default, you can only check your Google mail from your Gmail inbox. To check your website’s email from within Gmail, set these configuration options.
Under the Accounts and Import tab, click on Add a mail account under the Check mail from other accounts section. In the resulting window, enter your custom email address.
On the next screen, select the non-Gmailify option if it’s not already selected. After hitting next, you’re going to enter your email address, password, and paste in the incoming mail server URL and POP3 port of 995 from your NameCheap welcome email.
- Username: me@mydomain.com
- Password: ******* (your email address password)
- POP Server: premium66.web-hosting.com (may be different for you)
- POP Server Port: 995
In addition, check the boxes for the following options:
- Leave a copy of retrieve messages on the server.
- Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.
- Label incoming messages.
Finally, click on Add Account. At this point, you are able to receive email from your custom NameCheap email address directly within your Gmail inbox.
2. Send Mail As
If you’re following along in this tutorial, you now have a custom email address for your website and can check it from within Gmail. In order to send mail as your NameCheap email address from within your Gmail inbox, there are some final settings that you must configure.
Either click on Yes, I want to be able to send mail as in the same window from above, or under the Accounts and Import tab click on Add another email address under the Send mail as section.
On the initial screen, you can choose your display name as it will be shown on mail you send. Keep the box checked that says Treat as an alias. This will allow you to send mail as your custom email address.
Similar to above, fill out your email address, password, and paste in the outgoing email server URL and SMTP port of 465 from your NameCheap welcome email

- Username: me@mydomain.com
- Password: ******* (your email address password)
Before clicking on Add Account, make sure you have the recommended Secured connection using TLS selection.
Within a couple minutes, you’ll get a Gmail Confirmation email stating that you have requested to add your NameCheap email to your Gmail account. Click the link in this email in order to confirm that you do indeed want to send email as this email address.
